About Our Therapy Services
Here at The Communication Corner, we support children who may be finding communication a little tricky. We largely support children in the early years or at primary-school, who have speech or language difficulties. We help them to understand and use language to connect with others, and to speak more clearly and be understood.
We welcome all enquiries and are happy to discuss whether we can support your child’s specific communication needs.
Our approach is playful, fun, engaging and supportive and we tailor our support to each individual child’s needs and goals. We aim to help each child communicate with confidence and develop the skills they need to connect with the world, and others around them.

Our Services
Initial Consultation
1 hour
£80
The purpose of the first appointment is to gather a range of information on your child’s communication needs. This will include a discussion with the parent/caregiver, formal assessment of speech and language and/or informal observations, e.g. observations of play, depending on your concerns and your child’s age and stage.
Sometimes a further assessment session will be required to complete a more comprehensive assessment. This will be discussed with you after your initial appointment.
1:1 Therapy or Observation
30 mins - £55
45 mins - £65
1 hour- £75
Follow-up therapy appointment(s) will target the needs identified during the initial consultation. Duration and frequency of therapy appointment(s) will be agreed on an individual basis depending on a range of factors.
Sometimes group therapy may be appropriate, and if there are any relevant groups running to meet your child's needs this will be discussed with you and more information provided.
Sometimes observations in another setting, e.g at school or nursery, are required to gather further information. This will be discussed and agreed as required.
Review
1 hour
£75
Reassessment of communication needs following period of therapy, to identify ongoing needs/new goals if required.
Report Writing
£60 per hour
Sometimes detailed report writing is required and requested. This is time consuming and therefore a fee is charged. This will be discussed with you prior to the report being written and I will try to give an estimate of how long this may take.
Travel
£0.55p per mile
We also offer home visits, nursery/school visits or appointments elsewhere in the community as requested. Travel will be charged on top of the appointment fee and will be discussed with you prior to the appointment being agreed.
